The character development lesson for the first week we were there was the conclusion of a personal hygiene unit. Bosco taught that day with the children answering lots of the questions he asked. The curriculum they use is Biblically based with scripture to back up the topic. It was the end of the day so we sat out under the tree. I was always so amazed at the "books" the students took home to study. They have composition type books where they write down what they are supposed to learn. Since they have paper covers the students have the backs covered with another type of paper to keep them from falling apart. Many take them home at night to study. It gets dark around six pm so I am not sure how they study without electricity. They really want to learn.
